About The Fresh Soap of Bel Air

I'm so happy to smell you here! I'm Laura, artisan soap maker and owner of The Fresh Soap of Bel Air, LLC.

I make handcrafted soap that looks amazing, smells even better, and makes washing up feel a little less like a chore.

Each bar is made in small batches (through a process called, Saponification; see below text box for more on that process).

I use wholesome ingredients giving my soap a dose of personality — because soap shouldn’t be boring.

My soaps are creamy, moisturizing, and full of rich lather that leaves skin feeling clean and happy, not dry and sad. Plus, they last for what seems like (almost) forever— so you get more bubbles for your buck!

I’m a detail-obsessed soap nerd who loves creating things that make people smile (and smell great), driven by the joy of turning simple ingredients into something beautiful, useful, and a little bit fun.

I bring the bubbles and the good vibes — because everyone deserves a bar that makes them smile and smell great!

What makes soap...Soap?

Each batch starts the traditional, old-fashioned way through a process called saponification — which literally means “turning oils into soap.”

I combine two separate mixtures: one with lye and water, and the other with rendered lard, organic coconut oil, and castor oil. Both mixtures are heated slowly and once they reach the desired temperatures are mixed together. This is where the magic begins!

Fragrances and/or essential oils, mica powders, and natural clay are then added to give each batch its own unique touch.

Every batch is then poured into molds, left overnight to sit, then hand-cut & stamped by yours truly.

Once cut and stamped, the soap will then cure for several weeks until it’s perfectly creamy, bubbly, and leaves your skin feeling oh-so-soft!

Because each bar is handmade, no two bars are exactly alike, making each bar of soap unique!
